2020/3/21 5G Energy Storage Orders will let the LiFePO4 Batteries Back to Life

The acceleration of 5G construction has opened a market space for base station energy storage for the lithium iron phosphate industrial chain. Under the pressure of cost and technological breakthrough, the lithium iron battery of commercial vehicles is expected to fight against the new energy passenger vehicle market again with the ternary battery. The lithium iron phosphate battery, which has been dormant for many years, will return to a new cycle. "The construction of 5G base station has multiplied or even multiplied the growth of iron lithium (market)." Industry insiders predict so.

The 5G base station energy storage and peak shaving application scenario in China Unicom's previously released "5G enables ubiquitous power Internet of things 2020", which means that the number of cycles of the base station energy storage battery will increase significantly. According to the calculation of Tianfeng securities, under 7000 cycles, the cost of lithium iron phosphate battery is only one third of that of traditional lead-acid battery; and it is estimated that from 2020 to 2023, the energy storage demand of standby power brought by 5G base station will be 7.6GWh, 9.7GWh, 10.8GWh and 11.9GWh respectively; if "5G + peak regulation" is realized, the demand of lithium iron phosphate battery will be further increased substantially.
